The SPS Leadership Institute (SPS-LI) is a division of the Professional Development Department. Our mission is to develop responsive, effective, accountable leaders at all levels by providing rigorous, high quality professional development opportunities for aspiring and practicing administrators; these leaders in turn will be ready to lead our schools to achieve high academic performance.

Highly qualified, skilled leaders are critical components necessary in achieving the Springfield Public School’s vision: A Culture of Educational Excellence. The SPS-LI will strive to meet our mission in an effort to support the SPS district in accomplishing our strategic priorities and reaching the ultimate goal: closing the achievement gap for all students.
